According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025, a healthy eating plan emphasizes whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat or fat-free milk as well as other dairy products. Moreover, it consists of a range of foods high in protein, including seafood, lean poultry and meat, eggs as well legume, soybean products, and nuts. Include a low in cholesterol, salt, trans fats, added sugars, and saturated fats. Furthermore, keep this plan within your daily calorie budget.

Enjoy your comfort food 


To still enjoy the food you love while keeping your body healthy is first to eat them less frequently. If you typically consume these meals daily, reduce your intake to once per week or once per month. Next is to consume smaller amounts, restrict yourself to half of  your favorite higher-calorie foods. Lastly is to try alternative ingredients with low-calorie. For instance, instead of using butter, whole milk and full-fat cheese in your carbonara, switch to using fewer butter, non-fat milk, low-fat cheese. Remember to still be mindful not to eat more than you normally would.
